Welcome to the website of Saint Mary’s Orthodox Church of Dormition in Ras Beirut, Lebanon. In collaboration with the websites of the Greek Orthodox Archbishopric of Beirut and the Greek Orthodox Church of America (the latter has  graciously given us permission to link to its site) we hope to achieve the following:

Keep an updated agenda of prayers, parish meetings and  church activities on the front page

Present some basic essentials about the belief of the Orthodox Church

Give access to Gospel and Epistle Sunday readings, as well as other details about the liturgical periods and Saints’ feasts through a detailed ecclesiastical calendar (courtesy of goarch.org)

Define the Church’s rise (in Ras Beirut), its geographical location, phases of construction, as well as  her teaching institution. 

Inform in general about St. Mary’s present and previous priests.

Share  news of the Church;  weddings, baptisms, funerals and events 

Provide an explanation about our humanitarian aid programs and the dispensary that belongs to the same framework.

Keep an open channel of communication with parishioners in Lebanon and abroad as well as with any inquiring person.
