Father Antonios Ekserlis
was born in 1963 in Beirut.
After receiving his baccalaureate
diploma, he joined the Lebanese University
where he studied philosophy.
During this period, he dedicated a part of his time to teach catechism
in both public and private schools. Between 1991 and 1995 he joined St.
John Damaskinos School of Theology at
Balamand
University from where he
earned a degree in theology. Between 1995 and 1997 he resumed his
teaching in public schools in addition to his commitment in all Church
services of the diocese of
Beirut
with Metropolitan Elias Audi. He was ordained deacon by Metropolitan
Elias Audi in 1997 and was
later that year appointed to serve at Saint Mary’s
Church
of Dormition.. In
1999 he was ordained priest.
Father Ekserlis is
involved in all pastoral work of the parish and
runs the Bible study group. He is presently the secretary of both
the Office of Christian Education and of the
Theological
Formation
School. Of the latter he is a member of the
Administrative Committee. He also offers courses in the New Testament at
this school.
Father Ekserlis
received his Masters degree in Religious Sciences
at Saint Joseph
University in June 2008
Father Ekserlis
is married and has two children.
